Samurai

This was another Purgatory Sketch Club challenge. It was the second one actually, but I just finished it because I really got into the the retired super heroes one. So anyways, here it is. The background sucks, I really didn't know what to so I ended up doing whatever. As far as the coloring, its getting better but not quite there. When I was close to finishing up, I noticed that the color scheme looked like that of a ninja turtle. Donatello to be exact, but with Leonardo's swords.

Old Batman

This is a Purgatory Sketch Club challenge. Go check it out... The challenge was retired super heroes, and since the Batman is my favorite super hero, it was only natural that I was gonna draw him. So I did. I could not, however, do a funny or a gag. He's just to cool. Its hard for me to even begin to imagine him with a beer belly doing nothing. I think of him as a bad ass, wether he's young or old. So my interpretation is basically him with a cane and the bat signal in the back with his cowl off. This is to make you wonder, is he on his way out or back? Why is he looking back for? Is he not gonna kick some ass? I'm sure you could think of more. Again I did it by hand, photographed it and colored it in photoshop. It still needs work but I just wanted to put it up there. I'm fairly satisfied so I hope you will be too. Samurai coming soon.

Priest

Ok sirs, I finally finished it!! YAY!! So I was listening to Smodcast(podcast by Kevin Smith and Scott Moseir) and they were talking about priests and how some of them have molested children and get away with it. Well sort of. These kind of cases don't usually go to trial. At least none that I've heard of. But anyways, I just kinda felt sort of inspired to draw a priest in shackles. The point really is that those perverted assholes shouldn't get away with shit like that!!
So here's the picture. From start to finish. I actually started with the idea in mind and didn't really changed it. Not too much at least. For one of my art classes, the model did this similar look. she was kind looking up, sort of proud and I wanted to show that expression on this cat, not that being arrested is something to be proud of, but I think that with this expression you get the feeling that he's being sort of cynical and a hypocrite. I sketch it out and when i was happy with the look, I then penciled it and took a picture because I don't have a scanner but I think it also gives it more texture. I then colored directly over the pencils in photoshop. I'm pretty happy with the results not to mentioned that I gained a little more confidence painting digitally.

Sketch

Another sketch I did at work. I tend to draw people looking to the
left most of the time because I'm right handed and it feels a little
more natural to do so. Never the less, I do attemt from, time to time,
to make 'em looking the other way... Again pen on cardboard...

More Sketches

Here are some more sketches that I do at work, on my break.  But anyways the first one is of Batgirl, the inspiration for it came from the other Batman sketch I did. The one with her, Nightwing, and Robin in it. I kinda liked how it came out except for the face. I concentrated on the body a little too much that the face ended up looking bad. But whateve. I had the same problem with Wonder Woman. I also fucked up on the arms and hands. Again though, its just a sketch so its no big deal. The last ones are just sketches that I like to do just for the heck of it. I just start the face with no plan or idea at all. I just go with it until I think its "done." I did all of these on cardboard with a ball point pen, black, and red sharpie. I love drawing on cardboard and with ball point pen!! So again check 'em out and let me know what you think.
